A4 pixel size at your chosen PPI

Calculate A4 at 150, 300 or another resolution, understand rounding and compare its dimensions with Letter paper.

A4 is 210 × 297 mm, or 21 × 29.7 cm (approximately 8.27 × 11.69 in). Its pixel dimensions depend on the chosen resolution.

A reproducible calculation

At 300 PPI, width is 21 ÷ 2.54 × 300 = 2,480.3149… pixels. Height is 29.7 ÷ 2.54 × 300 = 3,507.8740… pixels.

Our calculator rounds up to whole pixels to reach at least the target on each side: 2,481 × 3,508 px. Tables that round to the nearest integer may show 2,480 × 3,508. That one-pixel difference comes from the rounding convention.

Resolution Minimum width Minimum height
150 PPI 1,241 px 1,754 px
200 PPI 1,654 px 2,339 px
300 PPI 2,481 px 3,508 px

These sizes cover the full A4 rectangle, without margins or bleed.

A4 is not Letter

Letter is 8.5 × 11 in, or 215.9 × 279.4 mm. At 300 PPI it needs 2,550 × 3,300 pixels for the whole page. Changing the paper selection is different from changing units.

Not every printer covers the entire page. With 10 mm margins, A4’s inner area is 190 × 277 mm. Choose A4 or Letter in the calculator and check your printer. Use the sheet planner for cards: pixel dimensions do not determine how many physical pieces fit.
