From pixels
to real sizes.

Find an image’s physical size or the pixels you need. Choose centimetres or inches and a PPI resolution.

What would you like to calculate?

An initial profile may be suggested by your language preferences; it does not detect your location. Changing units keeps the size. Choose paper separately.

In metric mode, image size is shown in cm and the scale test in mm.

The calculated size

25.4 × 16.93 cm

300 PPI

inches = pixels ÷ PPI

This calculates dimensions, not sharpness or print quality. Changing PPI without resampling adds no detail.

Check a printed size

A planned 100 mm line printed at 95 mm is at 95% scale. Check the viewer’s scaling settings first.

How the calculation works

One inch is exactly 2.54 cm. Pixels ÷ PPI gives inches. Multiply by 2.54 for centimetres.

The reverse calculation rounds up to whole pixels to meet the target resolution.

What you need to check

Suitable resolution depends on content, size, viewing distance and the print process. 300 PPI is an example, not a guarantee. Keep your image proportions.

The calculator does not crop, stretch or process files.
